Nuits Claires at the National Art Centre! SEPT 2025

A vast French-language writing relay project from Vancouver to Caraquet

Nuits claires, is a major pan-Canadian theatre creation project initiated by Mani Soleymanlou, artistic director of NAC French Theatre, and Cory Haas, artistic and managing director of Vancouver's Théâtre la Seizième.

Open Pit Theatre’s co-AD Geneviève was invited to participate as a playwright in this incredible project that features 7 french playwrights from across the country.

The project began in July 2024, with a notebook in Vancouver. Each playwright was given one month to write, and then the physical notebook was mailed to the next artist to continue the story.

The final presentation, a compilation of the 12 scripts written during each month of this this collective venture, will be unveiled at the next edition of Zones Théâtrales in Ottawa in September 2025.

LOOK UP in schools & daycares!

Geneviève and Virginie have been taking Look Up into schools and daycares for a one-of-a-kind interactive performance. Students get to experience a live performance with real sounds, objects, and materials.

Open Pit Theatre has also been offering sessions for teachers to offer ways to interact with an overhead projector and create visual/sonic stories within their classrooms.
